Eat Veggies, save the planet

This year I grew one bed of sweet potatoes. I planted the bed June 1st and harvested the 2nd week of October. The bed is 9′ x 3′. I put in 2 rows. The first row I used vines I cut from a friend’s sweet potato patch. For the second row I planted sweet potatoes that I bought in an organic grocery, cut in half, put in water and let sprout. Both ways worked successfully. My yield was 45 pounds of potatoes.

The first photo shows squash bug damage on my pumpkin vine.

The second photo is the large pumpkin vine which is growing well despite the squash borers.
