I went out to pick even though we got so much rain last night.  I have pine straw mulch on my paths so my feet didn’t get muddy. And I picked my first 3 cucumbers. I lost the first plants from a cold spell in the beginning of April and had to replant. They were the best cucumbers I have ever eaten. I planted some middle Eastern cucmbers. I bought them with a gift certificate I had gotten from my daughter for Mother’s Day last year.  The catalogue said they thrived in the heat.  I got  a huge bag of green beans and  a bunch of tomatoes and zucchini so I am glad I went out. the green beans and zucchini can get too big overnight and the birds will peck the tomatoes if they aren’t picked kind of pink.
