First of all can someone tell me how to put an accent on the e in pate?

My 17 year old daughter says green bean pate is her favorite dish these days so I make it often. One must use fresh green beans or the texture will be all wrong, no canned or frozen.

  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 cup of chopped onions
  • 4 cups of green beans
  • 1/2 cup of walnuts
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of pepper
  • 4 oz of medium tofu
  • 2 TBSP lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of dried parsley or 2 Tablespoons of fresh parsley
  1. Heat cast iron skillet.
  2. Add oil.
  3. Add onions and salt.
  4. Cook for 5 minutes on medium; do not let burn.
  5. Add green beans and walnuts and pepper.
  6. Cook for 5 more minutes stirring occasionally.
  7. It is done when green beans taste cooked, but crunchy.
  8. Let cool and then blend green bean mixture in food processor.
  9. Add tofu(crumble small) and lemon juice and process until blended. Do not overmix.
  10. Transfer to  bowl and stir in  parsley.
